Your Worth Isn’t Measured by How Hard You Push Yourself
Maybe you haven’t hit every goal, maybe you haven’t pushed yourself as hard as you think you should be, maybe things haven’t gone your way this year—still, your worth is not defined by how much you’ve achieved.
A good life is not measured by how much you accomplish in any given year. No one is out there keeping a tally of all of your achievements, certifications and awards—they’re all too wrapped up in their own lives, just like you are in yours.
So what if your to-do list is as long as ever? It doesn’t change the fact that you are still worthy. You are good enough and you don’t need an empty to-do list to prove that. Your worth is not something to be earned; it is everything you are right now, in the past and forever in the future. Somewhere along the way—through the education system, navigating hustle culture and living in an influencer’s world—you lost sight of it but it’s there and it’s yours to claim.
I hope one day you realise that completing your to-do list was never an option. There will always be something to do, something more to accomplish, just one more thing to bring you just to the very edge of finally, one day, feeling good enough and the sooner you realise that the sooner you can finally start living your life the way you were destined to.
Free, abundant, hopeful, optimistic… and productive.
Not in the way that society paints productivity to be but in a way that feels authentic to you. Productivity that fuels your soul and motivates you to work towards your passions and desires. Productivity that feels good. Productivity that is self-care.
This kind of productivity is a gift, not a burden and definitely not an obligation to meet impossible standards. It honours you, complements you and gives you energy rather than draining you of it, never demanding more than what you have to give.
Then you’ll realise what it feels like to truly be living and to truly feel worthy. What you do doesn’t impact your worthiness. Your to-do list isn’t a measuring stick for which others—or yourself— can judge you against.
You aren’t falling behind.
You never were.
The very idea that there was a ‘behind’ to fall back into was designed to keep you running, relentlessly pursuing the impossible, fuelling your perfectionism and belief that you’re somehow not good enough. A story that keeps you feeling pressured, never quite at peace and always pushing for more without ever feeling satisfied.
You don’t have to believe those lies anymore.
You can choose a different path, you can be someone different, you can love yourself even with a to-do list that overfills, and you can have a break even when it feels like the world is ending because now you know the truth.
And the truth shall set you free.
You are exactly where you’re meant to be, learning, growing and becoming more of who you truly are. There is no right pace, no wrong pace. There just… is.
Time is your most precious resource
You don’t all of a sudden become worthy once everything on your to-do list is crossed off. There will always be something else and so you will always feel like there’s something missing.
Because there is.
Maybe you’re trying to fill up the emptiness inside of you with the wrong things, tangible things that are easier to grasp, easier to obsess over like tasks, activities and impossible hoops. Always keeping you distracted and disconnected from the hidden belief that your existence as a human being needs to be justified.
That you need to do something in order to live life
The space you’re trying to fill was meant for something different—it’s there to help you see your own value, just as you are. What if you gave yourself permission to feel comfortable in your enough-ness?
Worthiness isn’t something that you measure or chase; it’s something that you are. It holds you, gives you confidence to become the person you want and reminds you daily that you are already enough.
