How To Get ChatGPT To Create A Morning Routine For You
I recently tried out ChatGPT to create a morning routine for myself and honestly, it did quite well. This might be a controversial take but the future is AI, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective.
I haven’t always been pro-AI.
In fact, I avoided using AI like the plague when it was first released because I just didn’t agree with how people were using it. Especially as a blogger, I looked down on people using AI to create whole blog posts (and ngl, I still feel the same about that topic but that’s for another day!).
However, I’ve grown to appreciate ChatGPT a little bit more and use it as a mini-assistant for small tasks that I typically find quite tedious.
If you want to create a customised morning routine that suits your needs then I got your back! In this post, I’ll give you a list of different prompts you can use and show you an example of the output that ChatGPT gave me.
It’s a lot simpler than you think.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot developed by OpenAI, that can answer questions, fulfil commands, write text and so much more!
The latest version of ChatGPT can work with a variety of different mediums such as text, audio and images.
As you can see, it is quite a comprehensive piece of kit.
However, I am NOT a technology expert so if you want a more detailed explanation about ChatGPT, check out the official website here.
Why use ChatGPT to create a morning routine
If you hate planning and organising, you’re definitely going to want to create an account on ChatGPT!
It’s going to save you so much time, stress and hassle in the future because you can get:
- Personalised recommendations tailored to your needs
- A full routine in a matter of seconds
- The ability to track your progress and adjust your routine whenever you want
- Relatively up-to-date expert knowledge (please fact-check your information though, don’t rely on AI for advice!)
- A cheaper alternative to paying for a coach or assistant
How to get it to create your morning routine
ChatGPT is only as good as the information you provide it. So I recommend you provide it with as much detailed information about your lifestyle, values and goals so that it can create the perfect morning routine for you.
I also recommend you put in specific activities that you enjoy doing or want to include in the morning. E.g. hatha yoga, prayer, ideal wake-up time and any issues you struggle with in the morning.
For example, I told it to keep my routine very simple and to focus more on mobility because when I wake up I am stiff as hell! Its first couple of outputs were okay but I needed to tweak them to fit my needs a bit more and you’ll probably have to do the same.
Think of chat GPT as your assistant, not your boss so you tell it what you need it to do and correct it when it makes mistakes.

Or if you’re feeling lazy you can use these simple prompts
I fully understand that you might not want to type out a long ass essay to get ChatGPT to complete a task for you so here is a very simple prompt you can use:
- Suggest a morning routine for productivity and mindfulness.
- What’s a good morning routine for a busy professional?
- Give me a morning routine for improved focus and energy.
- Help me design a morning routine with time for exercise and meditation.
- Suggest a simple morning routine for a beginner in mindfulness practices.
- Give me a morning routine that includes reading and journaling.
- Suggest a morning routine that can be done in under an hour.
- What’s a good morning routine for staying motivated throughout the day?
You might need to do a couple of follow-up prompts to help ChatGPT give you the exact output that you need for your routine. For example:
- How can I shorten the routine to fit within 30 minutes?
- Adjust the routine to fit a 7 AM wake-up time instead.
- Make a separate routine for the weekend and work-from-home days
- Add a brief workout to the routine and explain the exercises.
- Suggest a quick mindfulness activity to add to the routine.
- Make the routine more fun and engaging
- How can I stick to this routine consistently?
- Create an evening routine that mirrors this one
- Increase X activity by 5 minutes
- Give me the exact yoga exercises I should do in the morning

My thoughts and opinions
All in all, I think the ChatGPT outputs were quite good especially when combined with follow-up prompts and personal information.
Would I solely rely on AI to create my morning routine? No, because I like adaptability and it doesn’t know how I think or what my body needs on a day-to-day basis. And also, I just don’t like the idea of giving AI so much power especially because I am a productivity nerd and genuinely enjoy planning things out.
However, I think it is a really great tool if you want to create a morning routine and don’t know where to start. You can also feed ChatGPT more information about your personal life to get an even more detailed response.
Are you going to use ChatGPT to help you create a morning routine?
As you can see, Chat GPT is a great tool to help you get organised in your life but it’s important to remember that YOU are the human, YOU are the one in charge and YOU should be the one to shape your routine.
Use trial and error to figure out what works for you and amend as you go along. Don’t rely on AI to tell you exactly what to do in your life unless you’re doing some kind of social experiment.
